Ask Yourself “How”, Not “Why” – The Unholy Power Of The Subconscious Mind

You know what’s really messed up? Your brain and I are very similar. I mean really, we are so damn alike that it might scare you. The reason being is that your brain has an inner voice, and it’s so un-apologetically blunt that it gives me a run for my money. If you have any shred of doubt, then let me prove this concept to you.

Ask yourself (or,  your inner voice which we all have) a question, any question… Then notice how you start to come up with answers. If the question is pathetic and negative such as “Why am I such a loser?” then your inner-self will come up with a few very good reasons, all of which are probably true (I can give you more than a few by the way).

But here’s where things get really funky… Like 70′s style. Ask yourself this question now: “Why am I so awesome?”…notice how your inner-self comes up with a few good reasons also. So what’s the point to all this? The point is, you need to realize that your brain doesn’t give half a fuck as to the content of the question. It doesn’t care about your feelings, it doesn’t care what you might think about the answer, and it definitely doesn’t care what you do with the answer. All it cares about is answering the question you put forth it.

If at this point you didn’t have an “ah-ha” moment, please stand in front of a mirror and bitch slap yourself. This concept of harnessing the unlimited power and resourcefulness of your inner self can leapfrog your success in health, fitness, wealth and total world domination. Not only that, you can have some fun with this stuff. Like, when I ask myself how I can achieve world domination, my subconscious tells me the following:

“Well to dominate the world, you need to lead… Which you can do, but now you need to upscale that shit and get the following of a billion little minions. They all need a 9mm hand gun and a pair of nunchucks – no exceptions! Then brain wash them with an idea and get them to fight for you and take down any opposition. This should be easy since you’ll attract fit, healthy and sexy individuals and most of the world is already getting fat. Then…”

Ok so you get the idea. Actually… Now I know how mad terrorists groups can get so many retards to fight for them and/or strap a bomb to their chest while running into the open public, ready to obliterate their own ass at the press of a button. (And you thought you had to watch Fox news to figure this shit out… Nope).

Now that we know how this concept works and how it can be “mind-blowingly” helpful, what types of questions should you ask yourself?

Well that’s simple, every question that you mutter to your lonely self should start with “How to…”, “How do I…” or even “What should I do…”. Doing this will trigger your inner-self (subconscious) to start looking for clues and facts to come up with an answer along with a few ideas. THEN, put that stuff into ACTION and you’ll be well on your way.

A few things to note – This recalibration will take some time and effort on your part. If you’ve been asking yourself loser-like questions such as “Why do I suck… ” “Why am I such a screw up…” “Why can’t I just get things right…” for the better part of 10+ years, then you will have your work cut out for you, specially for the first 2 weeks because you’ll CONSTANTLY catch yourself in the act.

Like, you’ll punt some one’s baby kitten and then mutter “Why am I such a bad pers…. WAIT WAIT… Re-calibrate here… How should I fix this act of inhumanity?”

See? First question – USELESS. Second question – MUCH more productive. Remember, baby steps is the name of the game here. You’ll notice that after about a month your general hard-wiring will have been reprogrammed and now you ask yourself “how to..” questions on autopilot. This is where you want to be. So work on this and release the power of your inner-self. It will only make you super awesome – oh and if you DO decided to dominate the world, make sure to save me a spot in some high-class position… preferably one where I have to point fingers and yell at people to get shit done.

Got anything more to add to this technique/concept? Post it in the comments below. I want to see what some of you come up with. Also, if you’ve put this stuff to use, let’s heart what kind of impact it’s had on you. Have you dominated the world yet? No?… how about your spouse? Don’t hold back.

I absolutely dig what you've hit on here!! I've been trying for years to re-wire my brain; affirmations on a card read periodically throughout the day, fitness and physique goals again written on cards and carried around, getting involved in support groups for life problems... the list goes on.
Your new (yet creepily familiar) insight is that my inner-self couldn't give a BBQ spicey monkey leg about the mundane, surface level of my mind like thinking and feeling. It only and ONLY functions to find answers... that's why WHAT I ask is so much more important than HOW I feel about what I ask!!!!! Answers to questions like "Why...?" leave you with no action to take, but an answer to a "How...?" question will say something like "Do..." or "Try..." something

As I'm writing this I get some clarity on why my previous attempts may not have worked. It seems obvious (now) that I let my questions remain in the "WHY?" form and I was just SO overwhelmingly attached to how I feel about them. They just circled around in the surface of my mind as well as any answers I may have gotten, which usually just confirmed how crap I felt and was as a person.

NO MORE!!! I will try your simple 'Change the Input and Repeat' approach and will get back on this blog in a couple of weeks with an update.....watch this space.

PS thanks

Seems my man here has had an epiphany... stellar!

Yes, just changing ONE word can have a ridiculous impact on your success. Our brains are complex and advanced machines that don't need much stimulation to get results... just the RIGHT kind of stimulation.

Will look out for your update, looking to see a changed man.

Now what type of caffeine cocktail were you on when you wrote this! Man, some heavy shit! I agree, though, that what you say to yourself & how you think about yourself & the questions you ask yourself are HUGE! I keep trying what you say & have for years. I have not given up, I just keep trying cause I guess I am not the best at it yet. I do think you will dominate the world before me so save a place for me somewhere!

Now, I do dominate my hubby in certain ways but that is cause he has been married too long & if he says YES, it is better for him! :-)

OK, baby steps for me!

Haha I bet you DO dominate him. No doubts there. Yes, baby steps... let me know your progress.

OK, I have not had time to read this in depth.. very heavy for my simple mind! :-) I will try for tomorrow! You probably saw my rant on Diet Blog which got my hormone ravaged brain in a tizzy! I hope to be more level headed tomorrow after my outside Sunday jog!

The inner voice.. it says I am insecure!
