You know what I’m really getting tired of? The mass of people who want to do things “One way”. If you read my carb article, I showed you why some people can effectively follow the Paleo (caveman) type eating lifestyle while others can do whatever the fuck they want and still feel like a million bucks.
Well, today I shift that focus towards training. It doesn’t matter what you do, EVERYTHING works at least once. So many guys like to do things only one way. “Lift heavy and use drop sets bro, you’ll get jacked!”. “Naw naw, you don’t need that shit man, body weight exercises are the best!”... STFU you tunnel-visioned assmonkeys. Let FJ do the talking. You need to realize how adaptable your body is. I don’t think people have grasped this concept yet. Like, have you seen people survive shark attacks and all that crazy shit? It’s insanity. Have you seen the video of that kick boxer who snapped his shins in half, then came back stronger than before? Sounds impossible, but the proof is right there, in front of you.
So why would you stick to one type of training method? It’s fucking boring, and it’s useless. It honestly doesn’t matter if you do:
Supersets
Dropsets
Waveloading
Progressive Loading
Body Weight Training
Heavy Weight Training
Isolation Exercises
Full Body Exercises
Plyometrics
Cult Fit
Hight Intensity Interval Training
Eccentric Specific Training
Static Contraction Training
Strength Training
Hypertrophy Training
Bands and Chains Training
Stabilization Work
Core Training
Cardiovascular Training
… it all works, at least once. I’m not even scratching the surface here, but realize that some of the techniques and training methods I mentioned above work better than others, and some have a longer “effective life span” than others. What I mean by this is that applying Progressive Loading to your routine will be more effective for a longer period of time than just doing plyometrics.
Still, at some point you’ll strop progressing so you might want to switch that out for a couple of weeks and do something else. Give your muscles and nervous system time to recover, then come back and fucking kill it once again.
Here’s another crazy concept… combinations. Pick two totally different types of training methods and try it out for 3 weeks. Then, pick two more. Then criss-cross the two from the previous 6 weeks and see how that works. The permutations you can come up with number in the thousands.
Actually, I calculated it. If you can use any 3 techniques or methods mentioned above then you’ll end up with 4080 different permutations… assuming repetition is allowed. That is a SHITLOAD to choose from. Go try all four-thousand-eighty. I dare ya!

i think that’s why people get so “bored” with exercise and QUIT! i see people come into the gym and do the same damn thing… treadmill, eliptical, a few arm exercises on the weight machines and they’re in and hour in 45min to and hour.
i’d be bored too!! i think that’s why i have a plethra of workout videos from yoga and pilates to dancing and kickboxing to weight training, to boot camp type workouts, resistance bands, steppers… LOL
GOTTA MIX IT UP AND MADE IT FUN!!

I LOVE CHANGE! I mix it up in different workouts or the same workout. I just keep paying attention & listening to the bod & it tells me what I need to do. Most people don’t listen or pay attention to what the bod is telling them.
I don’t know all the ones you mentioned but I have & do use many up there…. it is all about keeping the bod guessing & trying to improve no matter what!

Well actually do an normal exercise with a normal trainee then he would not do it more then once or twice but if the same person goes to a gym by paying some money and do some exercise on machines he would prefer it.

First time visitor and I like what I see…
Keep your routines fresh. Although changing your routine every couple of weeks may not sound appealing, at least vary the order, length of set, number of reps. You\’re right, the # of combinations are endless so let\’s start using them!

Good stuff, and welcome. Though when I read “changing every couple of weeks may not sound appealing…” I was thrown back.
Maybe it’s just me but I just get so fucking bored with the same routine after 3 weeks. Some people DO hate change though, so they like staying in their little comfort zone and keep doing the same workout every time with 0 improvements… and they have the bodies to prove it. Ha.

My perspective comes from a beginners stand-point since people with more knowledge and experience can appreciate the benefits of changing up their routine.
Those just starting out and learning a workout (ie. mastering each movement, improving loads, reps, and sets) may feel a little overwhelmed by new changes every 3 weeks. That’s all… no need to worry as I fully support the idea of variety in ones exercise regimen.

I change my training methods all the time, get better results than ever before athough I’m still rubbish. Mixed training method tip is really good, everyone should try it. Even if you don’t progress to much at least you not bored. Thanks.
