What does a bodybuilder, a powerlifter and FJ have in common? We all have a fear.

No, not a fear of the iron, or the insane ab workout were about to do… but a fear of CHUNKS in our beloved protein shakes!

That’s right. After a hard ass workout the first thing I crave is a smooth, chocolaty protein shake to feed my muscles, and the last thing I want to be doing is forcing down chunks that haven’t mixed in properly. In fact, chunks down right aggravate me. Now you COULD say “Hey, just use a blender, that’s what I do” and I agree, that’s an option if you have time or if you plan well ahead… but how many people do that? Not many.

So what to do? Are we doomed? Do we have to gag down half assed, chunked up protein shakes for the rest of our lives?

Not if the product I’m testing today has anything to say about it. Introducing Blender Bottle… it’s a bottle, that is supposed to blend your shit to perfection. What’s great is that it doesn’t just stop at protein shakes, there are other things that you can do such as make omlets and crepes etc. Before we get to that though, let’s hear the official word from their website…

Product Claims:

The Best Mixer since the Wire Whisk.

Gourmet cooks rely on the wire whisk to blend their ingredients into a smooth and light consistency. Now you can do the same with the BlenderBottle®. The patented BlenderBall® wire whisk moves freely throughout the bottle as you shake it, mixing the thickest ingredients with ease. Now you can mix it smooth—anytime, anywhere!

Blender Bottle Uses:

Nutrition Drinks

Salad Dressings

Pancake Batter

Yogurt Smoothies

Lump-Free Gravy

French Toast Batter

Scrambled Eggs

Tempura Batter

Sauces and Marinades

Pudding Omelets & Egg Dishes

Water Bottle

Dry Ingredients (cinnamon or colored sugar, etc.)

Food Storage (nuts, syrup, etc.)

First Impressions:

You know what, I’m going to be honest with you all… when I looked at this thing, I was like “it’s just an average shaker cup with a wire ball inside… whooptie! This won’t even come CLOSE to a blender in terms of performance”. And can you blame me? I mean look at it… it’s so simple in terms of design. If you’ve ever seen the shaker cups at GNC, they have these crazy ass tornado contraptions inside them… it’s crazy. This didn’t have any of that.

But because I’m such a professionally dedicated review person dude… I wasn’t going to let my pre judgement stop me! The overall build quality was exceptional, everything had a great finish and the wire whisk was made of surgical quality steel. Another thing I found interesting was that it’s very malleable. Just give it a slight amount of pressure and it squeezes…

Blender_Bottle_Whisk

Either that or my fingers have become insanely strong from using the GRIPMASTER. RAWR! It’s probably both. But this definitely changes things a bit because if it was solid, it wouldn’t be able to move about as much.

The next thing I noticed was the white lid flap. This thing is STIFF. It’s a little tough to open and it stays where you leave it… now if you’re used to normal shaker bottles you might think this is a design flaw.

But it isn’t! They call it the StayOpen Flip Cap™ and the idea behind it is that when you goto drink from the cup and tilt it towards your face, the lid won’t come slapping down on your nose. Good news for Pinocchio! Personally I think this is great and it shows a great attention to detail which they have put themselves through. Awesome.

And the good news keeps on coming. The entire bottle is made from BPA free plastics so you won’t have to worry about your balls shrinking, growing and extra eye or your kids turning retarded. I like it when companies care about their customers like that, great stuff.

Real World Results:

Instead of me WRITING it out, I thought it would be better if I showed you since I was feeling rather creative with my video camera. So ladies and gentlemen, for the first time ever in an FJ review history I’ll be showing you a video for the real world test. Check it out by scrolling down…

So as you can see, it did a pretty kick ass job. I was surprisingly impressed with how it just broke down the ice and smoothly melted it into the shake. I believe the massive amount of friction inside the bottle had something to do with it too, but still.

Also, it never leaked once, the seal is that good. The reason for this is because you can really tighten the lid. I like this because I was able to throw the bottle in my bag without worrying about it or wrapping it up in a plastic bag.

Now after you use the Blender Bottle, it’s only common sense that you need to clean it up… well fear not because everything is dishwasher safe so that saves you from doing it, which is great in my books. If however there are times where you need to squeeze multiple uses outta it, such as making a shake, then throwing together an omlet and then mixing up a fruit drink then you’re covered as well because it takes about 10 seconds to wash and rinse. You really couldn’t ask for anything more.

Conclusion:

So it’s built well and performs even better and while imposing an easy clean up. Then there is the price, a measly $8.99. Right now I have to say that I’m completely stumped because as far as I can tell, the Blender Bottle is almost completely without fault. I mean it’s even available with a boat load of colors to match your gym shorts, or gym bag or tank top or your eyes or whatever else you might want to match.

If you’ve read my previous reviews, then you know that I’ve only ever given a perfect score to ONE product, and that was Purple K. Since then there have been great (and not so great) products that have come before me but none that were absolutely perfect. None that I could put my name to and say “that shit right there is perfection!”

Well brace for it, because today I am giving the Blender Bottle a 5/5!

See, when I give products a 3 or a 4, it usually means they are pretty good but only worth purchasing if you need them or if they happen to improve the quality of your life in some way shape or form.

But when I give something 5stars, you should know that it’s a MUST BUY. There is no question about it, if you drink protein shakes (and most of you do) then go invest a measly 9 bucks and grab yourself a Blender Bottle… I HIGHLY recommend it. Because of this feat, it also deserves my:

I'll give this a try, for $8.99 it's a no brainer. Anything to smooth out those protein shakes. Just dumping the powder in a bottle of water and shaking it and then trying to drink it, makes me want to hurl!

Great review, FJ.

I posted a review of it too here: http://thestrengthreview.blogspot.com/2010/05/sundesa-blender-bottle-review.html

@Jim

Good stuff, yeah it's about time you put it to some serious use. Get 'er done! (as Larry the cable guy would undoubtedly say)

I have to get back in to working out. I love it now I just have to find the time again. I know everyone says that, But I truely do love the feeling of a great workout.

Now about a couple of years ago I started to try the protein shakes myself. So I went into GNC and got myself the biggest tub of protein I could find and I saw that blender bottle you got here. Well I picked it up because it looked interesting and because I had tried protein shakes before and trying to stir them is a nightmare. I also didn't have a blender so I thought why not give this a try.

Well I have to say it works real well and its great for on the go shakes. Now I gotta crack open my blender bottle and start working out again!

Yeah the music just "fit". I'll be dropping by blogs again, been so fucking MIA. Got some stomach bug thing... that shit wasn't fun.

Like the ring too! And that music, awesome! Very suspenseful!

Seriously, this looks great!!!!! I am thinking I need a find a day to post about this on my blog & link back here. I will let you know!

Thx for the great review & all the important points you made about the bottle!
