Supplement Review: Anadraulic State GT by LG Sciences

FJ's Verdict:

They say that the Jack of All Trades is usually the master of none… but is that always true? There are many instances where you want to be well rounded in a bunch of disciplines. Take MMA for instance, it is a well known fact that some of the top guys in the UFC are extremely well rounded. Take a look at GSP – that mofo has ridiculous wrestling skills but can also deliver vicious high kicks to your pretty face.

Then there’s Fedor, who so many say is the “perfect” fighter. He has not lost once and as far as critics are concerned… has absolutely no holes in his game. He is vicious standing up, on the ground or on his back. He can knock your face off just as easily as he will put you in a choke hold and make you tap like a lil bitch.

So when it comes to supplements, is there any product that can pull off this well-rounded feat? Well a brand new product called Anadraulic State GT form LG Sciences is trying to do just that, and I’ve taken it for a full-out test drive to see if it delivered.

First, let’s hear the official product description from LG Sciences…

Product Description

“Not being in the perfect state prior to working out is a problem that robs most people of muscle. Did you know a large part of muscle growth happens at the gym where you are priming each cell for growth? All of the signaling and plumbing for muscle growth is laid in the gym, which is precisely when you lack nutrients. If you want to really grow, being in the perfect state is critical. Sadly, most people ignore this critical time and waste hard earned effort in the gym because of improper nutrient timing. While you are there, if you are not making the most out of every minute, you are robbing yourself of the most critical time to build muscle and making a HUGE mistake in your training.

To get real muscle growth when you workout, you need to be in the perfect state…the Anadraulic State. The Anadraulic State is unlike anything you have ever experienced, it puts your body in the perfect condition to accomplish unparalleled muscle growth while you train. Nothing like it has ever been seen before and nothing rivals the pure power and intensity of a man in the Anadraulic State. This muscle building pre-workout product is in a league of its own…

Anadraulic State is the first pre-workout product made exclusively to build the key androgenic compounds needed for extreme muscle growth along with the perfect blend of nutrients that will put your muscles in an anabolic state…the Anadraulic State!”

First Impressions

The mini tub is about the size of most other pre-workout products such as BSN’s NO Xplode. It’s blue and on the side its got the oh-so-famous art work which shows off how the product works at a cellular level. You know, shit like colorful blocks and expanded blood vessels. It sure makes me want to try it, so good job on the marketing front. DSC00244

When you turn it over and take a look at the ingredient section though… its truly shocking stuff. This thing is jam-packed with ingredients. From the looks of it, its a fucking pre workout, intra-workout and post-workout supplement all in one. Take a look below to see what I’m on about.

So let’s jump right into their proprietary mixes and see what we have on our hands. The entire scoop is 16grams and therefore it’s hard to judge how much of each mix we have, but I’ll take my best guess.

Stimulant Complex – Caffeine is something everyone knows about, and this stuff has a decent amount of it in there. The rep confirmed that each serving contains 150mg of it. What the bitter orange is there for, I’m truly not sure. Never seen it in a stimulant mix before.

Adaptogenic Complex – Quercetin is mainly used in energy products since it helps you feel more mentally alert. It’s naturally found in apples. I personally think its awesome, but in small dosages it doesn’t do shit, so lets hope they put an adequate amount in here. Schizandra berry has numerous uses but I’m guessing in here because its shown to improve reflexes, stimulate the nervous system and help with digestion. Wolfberry (or Gojiberry) is high in Vitamin C and provides immune support. Cinnamon has too many benefits to list and Mulberry is used to suppress high blood sugar levels – so its in here for something to do with insulin. But then they have an insulin spiking matrix so I’m not sure why they threw this shit in here. Let’s move on.

Amino Acid Complex – Basically a complex with different types of proteins. There is nothing wrong with protein but in a 16 gram scoop where you have so many other ingredients, I don’t see the point of having protein. If the protein content is 10g, then 6g needs to be divided amongst the other complexes which makes no sense. If its 5g, then its basically insignificant… so in my opinion its a waste of space. It’s well known that taking protein pre-workout will help spare muscle tissue but you’re better off having a turkey sandwich to be honest.

Estrogen Control Complex – Whether this mix works or not is too hard to tell, but controlling estrogen is never a bad thing so why the fuck not, right? Reserveratrol has been popping up in too many places with too many claims and not enough evidence to back it up, so be aware of that.

Creatine Complex – Basically a bunch of creatine types (YAY for using mostly monohydrate) mixed in with some Beta-Alanine, which i believe is the shit. I love it. From my guess, anything less than 5g of creatine would be lame, so lets assume that, and anything less than 5g of Beta-Alanine isn’t possible because of the tingle this will give you (more on that later). So that’s roughly 10g of the 16g scoop right there… as far as my best guesstimate goes. I could be completely wrong. And if i am, bite me.

pSARM Complex – There has been quite a lot of buzz about SARMS lately, and here are a few quotes I pulled from LG Sciences:

“SARMS have been in the news recently as a way to give men and women the benefits of using illegal anabolics without the risks to health and safety. SARM technology uses new compounds that are only anabolic in specific tissues, meaning they have all the muscle building benefits of testosterone without the negative side effects of illegal prohormones and anabolics.

pSARMs may act like testosterone in specific tissues like muscle. This gives us the unique benefit of being anabolic without the negative side effects found with illegal anabolics. The key to the pSARM is in the shape of the molecule which is similar to testosterone and acts like it in specific muscle tissues, giving the bodybuilder a very potent anabolic agent without the negative side effects”DSC00248

So it’s basically a molecule that is very similar to testosterone, which in theory should provide similar benefits (gain muscle while burning fat). This has been tested in rats who saw gains anywhere from 8-20% but to be honest, I think it needs to be further researched. Also, the dosages used and/or are needed is completely fucking unknown. All the touted benefits also are worded with a lot of “mays” – as in it may help with this or it may help with that. Who in their right mind is paying for “may deliver results”?! I only wanan pay for concrete shit, thank you very much.

To sum it up then, this complex smells a little fishy to me so I wouldn’t get too excited over it. LG Sciences sells pSARM as a standalone product in capsule format and while some have loved it, there have also been others who claimed that it made them nauseated and pukey. Hmm…

Carbohydrate Complex – No doubt its meant to cause an insulin spike, but here is something hilarious – Waxy Maize is actually jack SHIT at causing an insulin spike. In fact, studies have proven that a slice of white bread causes a greater insulin response than waxy maize so I’m not sure why it’s being used here. My guess is that because so many other supplement companies have used it, we have a “monkey see, monkey do” effect going on. LG Sciences… you guys need to do your damn homework.

On paper then, this entire product seems relatively promising when you look at the boat load of proven and mysterious ingredients. Let’s see how it performs in the real world.

Real World Results

Upon openage of the tub (yes “openage” is now a word), you are introduced to the smell. In my opinion it seems like a bakery product… something with maybe a bit of cinnamon? It’s a bit odd, but not bad. When I threw a scoop into my Blenderbottle, I was surprised to see that it doesn’t tell you how much water you need to use. So I guessed.DSC00247

I soon realized that if you use too little water and make a concentrated mixture it has a pukey smell to it and the taste is oddly strong. So throw in lots of water, 10-16oz at least and you’ll have a nice, lemony flavored mixture. It’s sweet at first but has a bitter after taste. The oddest part about it however, is how it tingles the mouth (no doubt its due to beta-alanine but previous beta-a products haven’t done this to me). If you have open cuts on you lip… good fucking luck. This tingle also stays for a good 15 minutes so expect your taste buds to go slightly numb.

Overall Drinkability – 2/5

After gulping it down, I felt pretty damn alert after 20 minutes. Visually, the color contrast was heightened and any feeling of tiredness vanished. So far, so good. An hour after ingestion I hit up the gym for my workout to see what’s what. I lifted heavy, was focused and actually felt an odd bit “pumpier”. Workout went well for 20 minutes after which hell broke loose.

Half way through a pullup session I felt queasy and light headed. A few minutes after this I was pukey, as if I’ve just taken that stupid ass tea cup ride at the carnival. You know the one that just goes round and round, faster and faster till you feel like projectile vomiting on the person who persuaded you to ride it. And the crazy part is that I usually have a strong stomach. I’ve eaten full meals and then done trampoline shows where you are flipping and twisting around in a 20 minute routine, so its no easy task to make me lose my shit.

What can I say though… I had to leave. Lame.

Conclusion

This thing is in a mixed boat. I have no doubts that their pSARM was the root cause of the pukey feeling. A 5 minute research session on Google will reveal that to you. So what to do? Well at $0.6 per serving, its awesome… as long as your body doesn’t reject it. The problem is that you can’t know how you’ll respond to it without trying it. It does give great energy and I’m sure I woulda destroyed my workout if the initial energy boost had tapered off nicely instead of resembling a raging bitch on PMS, and you just cannot ignore this fact.

This supplement can be a complete waste of cash and will actually hinder your workout if you happen to suffer like I did. Also, the taste isn’t the greatest so that’s another factor you need to be aware of. In the end, I’m going to give Andraulic State GT a 2/5 stars. As it stands, being the jack of all trades doesn’t fare well in the supplement industry.

When I watch this sport and I see the guys that go for the legs to do a take down I do not understand why as soon as they see their opponent go towards their legs why they simply do not kick them in the face. Seems like that discourage that tactic.
