Let me ask you something… what is the most important part of any training program? Is it the amount of heavy shit you lift? Is it the exercises? How about the speed or duration? The answer is none of those things. Its RECOVERY!
That’s the whole point of training and trashing your body into an oblivion. It’s so you can reap the rewards after recovery… yet so many jackasses are forgetting this concept so they go on training like 6 days a week, leaving absolutely no time for their CNS and their muscles to recover, grow and adapt. Retarded.
But today I happen to have a supplement that will aid you in your recovery ventures. It should be common sense that if your recovery times could be reduced, then you’ll be able to hit up the gym more frequently, resulting in better gains. It’s called LG5 PRO.

First Impressions:
Like the previous Flex Wheeler line of supplements I reviewed earlier, this one comes in an attractive blue packaging. I just wanan pick it up and hold it. Maybe lick it. Maybe not.
So you pay 20 bucks for 31 servings… which works out to $0.64 per serving. That’s spec-fucking-tacular if you ask me. Do note that L-Glutamine powder is a relatively affordable supplement in its own right, but this is just great.
So what do you get inside? Well its got about 3 grams of AAEFX’s dextro-cyclodized Glutamine and another gram of a special mix comprised of Taurine, Glutamine-hydrochloride, Aspartic acid (non-essential amino acid used orally to increase absorption of mineral supplements, to reduce fatigue, and to enhance athletic performance) and Ribonucleic acid (naturally occuring sugar thought to re-elevate ATP levels quickly… studies are so-so on this but used with L-Glutamine I’ve found that it’s not too bad. The powder is pricey by itself though). In the overall scheme of things you are getting about 4g worth of recovery agents.
Now this is a bit on the low end since when I take L-Glutamine powder by itself, I tend to take about 6-7g/day. But LG5 has a better delivery system which proved itself quite well when I reviewed Cell Rush a few weeks back… so I was interested to see how it would perform.
Like all of their supplements, the LG5 Pro came with a full purity certification document to let me know that nothing but the ingredients that are on the label are in the bottle itself. This is good to see since some companies throw together a bunch of cheap supplements from China and slight cross-contamination goes ignored. I would pay extra for extra piece of mind… I don’t want salmonella in my supplements. Pfft.
Real World Results:
When you first pour this stuff into a spoon, it looks like melted pink candy. The texture has something “shiny” about it… I can’t put my finger on it, but see for yourself. It also smells like a low-down version of cotton candy. Or maybe bubble gum, again can’t put my finger on it but its not bad. Not bad at all…
Then there’s the taste. On the tongue it’s all slimey and gooey and it tastes like a tangier yet weirder version of Pepto. But that’s not the worst bit, the worst bit is the distinctive L-Glutamine sour-yet-salty after taste. A bit like drinking from the ocean.
Yeah, so on a scale of 1 to terrible, the taste in my opinion is kinda shitty.
BUT…
You really can’t blame AAEFX, because it’s not their fault. Why? Because Glutamine by itself is a horrid tasting supplement and what they’ve done is take something that is un-bareable by itself and made it bearable. So stop being a momma’s boy and deal with it. Another thing that’s great about this supplement is that since it’s in liquid form, you can throw some cranberry juice in your shaker cup along with your LG5 Pro and you’re good to go. A few shakes and it mixes almost instantly!
I duno why AAEFX doesn’t brag about this little feature but they really fucking should. It’s amazing, you can hardly taste it. Mmm cranberry juice. Just make sure you aren’t mixing together a cranberry DRINK… this ain’t happy hour!
So what about the effectiveness? Well from my testing, it works just as good as L-Glutamine powder. For some it might work better but it would be really hard to tell the difference… maybe if you took 2-3 servings a day? So basically you could get the powder itself or this… but let me tell you that the convenience of the bottle and flavored liquid format is legit. I also won’t have to throw in L-Glutamine powder into my protein shake anymore. The thing would become slightly salty tasting, but all that’s history.
Conclusion:
I tried to find faults with this product, I really did but I couldn’t. So there will be no hoop-la in my conclusive statement today… because for $0.64 a serving, there is no reason why anyone who does any form of resistance training shouldn’t be taking 1tbsp a day. Unless you LIKE feeling sore for days and days, LG5 Pro comes highly recommended. Yes I know the taste isn’t the greatest, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a better Glutamine product that beats this thing’s convenience and price.
I give it a 4.8/5 stars and it also gets my…

Nice. From a martial arts perspective, tearing up the body (in a grappling, workout sense) is a fairly regular occurrence. This sort of recovery assistant might be helpful for us too.
If it could heal bruises and cuts too that would awesome – but I believe I am engaging in wishful thinking.
