Now I’m not referring to the obese balls of lard that have trouble wiping their own ass. No. I’m talking about people who are generally in good shape but lack any sort of explosive power and have reflexes that could be bested by a sloth. But the good news is this… believe it or not you CAN train to improve your reaction times, overall quickness and muscle dexterity. All it takes is the proper know-how and the right type of training.

If you’ve been following this blog, you probably read about the under-dog supplement that I stumbled upon called MuscleSpeed. It was meant to address the very need I mentioned, but it can only take you so far. A supplement is just that… It’s mean to SUPPLEMENT a proper training routine or system. So to fill this void, I have created a SPEED TRAINING report that contains 8 techniques, or exercises if you will, that if practiced… Will improve your overall quickness in ANY sport. Now I’ve targeted it more for Martial Artists and MMA fighters, but truth be told, every technique is scalable for your sport.

Also, true to FJ style, this isn’t some lame ass PLR report. It’s written from scratch by yours truly and you can be sure it lives up to my ridiculously high quality standards. I tested a BUNCH of different techniques by putting them to the test for a minimum of 5 days… And only the ones that noticeably improved performance made it into the final report. The useless junk was filtered out. During the research process, I’m actually embarrassed at some of the exercises I tried in the name of becoming speedy. Pfft… Oh well.

“So where is this report?” You ask? Well it hasn’t been released it. But it will… Real soon (hence why I’ve been too busy to post articles). If you want this report when I publish it, make sure you’re a Bronze member so you can download it as soon as it goes up (Remember, sign up is FREE). In the mean time, I’ve extracted one of the 8 techniques from the report so you can start your training. I call it:

Dodgeball…

If you can dodge a ball, you can dodge a punch. For those that watched the movie Dodgeball, the first line might have made you chuckle, but the fact of the matter is… unlike the movie, my statement is actually true. You’ll need two things to practice this technique: A friend and a set of tennis balls. Optionally you might want to wear a face shield or mask (but that’s for pussies), and also… a friend who can actually AIM is a big plus here.

The set up here is again, very simple. Give your friend 4-5 tennis balls and tell him/her to stand about 2 meters (6 feet) from you. You might want them to stand at 3 meters (9 feet) if you want to start at a “beginner” stage. Whatever, it’s all good. One day you’ll be awesome, I believe in you.

Now stand with your back against a wall in your fighting position. I think you can see where I’m going with this…

Tell your friend to do an over-hand toss and with the intention of hitting you square in the face. Your job is to dodge/weave the tennis balls. You can also use your hands to perry/block them as they come near your face. The beauty of this technique is that is VERY scalable.

You can practice with hands by your side, forcing you to dodge without blocking. You can tell your friend to start throwing them faster and whipping them at you. You can tell your friend to speed up the timing between each ball… since rapid fire punches have a high chance of occurring in a tournament or even in a street fight.

You can tell your friend to come closer to make things challenging, or you can even try and punch the tennis balls as they come flying towards you. Mix and match the different elements to fit your style.

When I teach Karate, I tend to use bean bags because they don’t go bouncing off everywhere and come in funky rainbow colors. This makes it easier for the students since they can see em’ clearly. And after about a month of training, there is no mercy.

I full out whip it at them, and fully expect them to dodge it. Most of the time they do. There are always those odd, yet hilarious moments where some of them catch a bean bag in the face… all in a day’s training I guess. As my Sensei used to say: “Cry in the dojo, but laugh on the battlefield”. I’m pretty sure he got that from somewhere else.

The Release Date

Here’s how this Speed Training Report will be released: My book holders will get priority access to it first. If you own my book check your inbox real soon. There will be a surprise waiting for you. After this, I will be making a post on here for the Bronze members that points to the download link. This release date is slated for Tuesday July 14th.

Here’s To Being Quick & Speedy For Life!

-Fit Jerk

———–
© 2009 – 2012, By FitJerk. FitJerk.com is a division of Flawless Fitness Media – All Rights Reserved – No part of this post is to be republished without author consent under any forms of media (including print, internet, video or audio transcription). Of course you’re going to recommend your system over p90x, its natural. You’re just going to trash talk it and make your product sound better!”

Pre-judging already? See that’s why I’m not like you, and you’re not like me – extremely awesome. Truth be told I actually liked p90x to some degree. Yep you read that right… now before you crap your pants, listen up. What I’m going to be doing here is breaking down this over-hyped system and then comparing it with what I offer. Plain and simple, no bullshit. The reason is simple: “How does your program compare to p90x?” is probably the MOST common question I get, so it’s time to reveal the answer publicly. You ready? Good.

First and foremost let me say that the man behind p90x, Tony Horton, is in good shape – specially at his age. This is a major plus in my books, since I recommend you take advice from someone who actually walks the talk. BUT, after going through this massive collection of DVD’s I have to say that he gets really fucking annoying to listen to. Some people might find his dorky jokes and over-the-top energy motivating… I really didn’t. The mute button is my friend.

So, next we come down to the core theory behind the program – muscle confusion. Does it work? Definitely… but “muscle confusion” is just a fancy marketing term they came up with which basically means variety! This common knowledge has been known by the top body builders since the 80s! Truth be told, even an inexperienced person will eventually figure out that if you do the same shit over and over again… Your body will stop adapting and you’ll stop seeing results. In simple terms… You’ll have hit a plateau. NOT FUN. So congrats to Beach Body for coining a brilliant term – give your marketing guys some bonus checks.

Let’s get right to it…

Nutrition - Most of their meal plans and nutrition advice can’t be faulted, you will see results as long as you follow them. The only thing you might want to be careful of is their nutritional shakes and supplements. You can get BETTER alternatives for cheaper if you look around. They push their products hard and who can blame them? However what they DON’T cover is proper food portioning… Because eating some foods together is just BAD BAD news for your stomach.

Now, what most people DON’T realize is that nutrition results in 50-65% of your fitness success. Sometimes even more depending on how oddly shaped you are, so if you are going to drop MSRP $140 on this program, make sure that you don’t JUST focus on your workouts… Otherwise you’ll be asking for a refund faster than a fat kid who abolishes a Krispy Kreme doughnut.

Exercises - There is nothing special to report here, it works. P90x relies on tried and true body weight and resistance exercises that most gym-goers know about. They don’t rely on gadgets, fancy machines or bullshit, I like that. However, I DO have a few things that bother me:

First and foremost is the Kempo-X workout. Being a martial artist, I almost puked in my mouth because of the horrible form he teaches. The sloppy punches, hooks, blocks and the noodly legs will surely give someone somewhere a bit of false confidence. Listen to me Tony, you can’t kick for SHIT… So stick to push ups and crunches and stop trying to make a Tae-Bo killer program.

I know it’s supposed to be a “workout routine” but seriously… I will not stand for bad form. Never! If you’re going to be teaching martial arts, focus on power, intensity and rock-solid technique… This will not only make you an effective weapon but provide 2x the calorie burn!

Next up is the Ab Ripper-X workout – Technically this is a great routine… But I just had to laugh because 80% of the workouts are taken straight from gymnastics =)

Then we have the static rep ranges that never seem to change. Tony loves his 8-10 or maximum reps. There is no mention of exercise tempo, rest or anything of that sort… This is a typical shot-gun approach that will tank a person’s efficiency. If you want some serious strength gains while not packing on too much muscle mass… P90X will fail you. If you want to under-go some serious hypertrophy training… P90X will fail you. If you want to lose fat and generally get in better shape… Then P90X just might help you out. See the difference? In Flawless Fitness I teach exactly how to tweak and change your workouts and what parameters you need to focus on (or ignore) according to YOUR GOALS.

Next up is the problem of owning DVD’s themselves. This ends up becoming contradictory to their whole approach towards the “muscle confusion” philosophy! DVD’s cannot be “updated” … So what happens after 90 days? You guessed it… All this will start to become the same shit over and over – the exact problem they were trying to address with “muscle confusion” will now become your main sticking point. And since these DVD’s teach you nothing about nutrition principals, exercise physiology, or fat loss principals… You’ll either have to buy more products or revert back to old workout routines. FUN!

Then we have the biggest factor, specially in this economy… And that’s the price. If anything, this is where I have them beat (realistically its WAY more than that!). You COULD spend $140 on P90X… But then you’ll also need to spend some money on quality groceries, some basic fitness equipment needed for this program such as: dumbbells/resistance bands, a pull-up bar and a yoga mat (if you have hardwood floors). This will easily push you towards the $300 range.

<—=[OR]=—>

You could get my eBook which is on sale right now, and will only run you about the same price as a large pizza (Reg Price is $40). It also comes with these features and bonuses:

Lifetime Updates

6 Months Of Unlimited Email Support With FJ

Tried & Tested Pre-Made Workout Routines You Can “PICK UP & GO” with

Techniques & Principals to help you create a customized workout based you YOUR goals – In 2 Mins flat!

Bonus eBook “How To Combat The Common Cold”

Then, with the heaps of cash you have left over, you can purchase some home equipment such as a pull-up bar, dumbbells/resistance bands, groceries, dirt-cheap supplements that work and maybe even a trip to the movies!

Conclusion:

Ok let’s warp this up. If you prefer a “shotgun approach” to fitness, while watching some DODE on your TV crack corny jokes and do a few workout routines, then by all means order P90X. If you’re in shit shape, it will (at the bare minimum) get you into acceptable shape. It might even get your ripped, I have no doubts about it. It doesn’t rely on retarded shenanigans and is one of the better “As Seen On TV” programs that are available. If not one of the best. (Holy shit… I never though I’d be saying that!)

However, if you want to know some of the BEST kept fitness techniques & secrets that deliver awesome results – all the while giving you a true education that will stick to your for life… Check out Flawless Fitness. I take the whole “give a man a fish, then teach him how to catch one” approach. In the end, my 6th sense tells me that you and your wallet will most likely receive a bigger gain on your investment… but in the end, you decide. I could care less.

To Being Fit & Sexy 4 Life

-Fit Jerk

———–
© 2009 – 2012, By FitJerk. FitJerk.com is a division of Flawless Fitness Media – All Rights Reserved – No part of this post is to be republished without author consent under any forms of media (including print, internet, video or audio transcription).
