This is something I've noticed in my life too... isn't it fucked how everything bad just seems to happen all at once? Then everything good also seems to happen all at once too?

Quite the odd phenomenon. And I'm glad my ramblings amuse your kids, tell em FJ said "hi" and that a "douchebag" is someone who lacks intelligence, common sense, and general social IQ.

Although you have been through some serious struggles, the fact that you had a serious lifestyle in the past means that you can always bring that passion back. It's easier to train someone who has trained before than a newbie. It's easier to deal with a customer who's already purchased from you than a cold prospect. So I think you'll bounce back easily.

If anything think of your kids... we can't have 100% control over when we'll die or when others will pass away, but we CAN decrease the chances of it happening.

So what I'm gona say is that you need to stack the deck in your favor so your kids will have the highest chance of having you around for as long as humanly possible. Make sense?

Awesome sauce.

OK FJ, I can tell you what happened along my road.

I worked out all of my adult life. From 18 to 38 I pushed myself, always trying to be stronger, and of course thinner because all women want that. Right through 3 babies and everything. I was in really good shape. Then all in one fell swoop, my brother died, my mom died, my mother-in -law died (No Grandma's for my kids), my dog died, a couple of other crap things happened and I lost my mojo.

Twenty pounds later and the weakest I've ever been, motivation is hard to come by. I have fat on my arms! I weigh 152 pounds, yuch!

So that's why I fell of my horse and kept getting knocked back off until I couldn't climb up anymore. I don't think it was just that I was a lazy ass, although it has now come to that.

Now, my kids are 10, 12, and 14. They are all athletic and the 12 year old son is particularly interested in fitness, weights, etc. I have read some of your posts to him and my 10 year old, cutting out most of the cursing, of course. (I do leave a little in because it makes them laugh their heads off, but I can't leave it all in because my 10 year old already asks my things like "What is a douchebag?" and "Why am I getting hair above my wiener?" Can't he ask his dad these things? )

I'm feeling the need to set a good example. The kids practically grew up at lifetime fitness. I worked in the childcare and worked out there all the time so they were used to a gym. Now I'm trying to get the Chutzpah to go back. Maybe you'll actually talk me into it:)

Sorry about hijacking your blog. Just thought I''d share. I downloaded your free e-book.

Peace,

Great post & yes, that one word does make a difference. I sometimes say "I won't" when it is just not important enough to me. I may want to do "it" BUT if it is just something that I really don't want to put my all into, I say "I won't". Now don't get me wrong. I do that stupid "I can't" stuff.. but it is usually not with the workouts.... always the other stuff.

FJ, I know what you are going to say.. so.... save your breath! :-) I am getting old & meaner than I already was!!!
